BCCH Crystal Ball Gala

BC Children’s Hospital Foundation today announced the 37th Annual Crystal Ball Gala, presented by Nicola Wealth, raised over $4.24 million and counting for the creation of the launching of their Clinical Trials Super Hub . The annual event returned to its traditional in-person format at the Fairmont Pacific Rim on Saturday, November 18th. 

“The support that we received from donors at this year’s Crystal Ball was absolutely incredible,” said Malcolm Berry, President and CEO of BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. By launching the Clinical Trials Super Hub at BC Children’s Hospital, you’ve enabled one of our boldest visions for the future. Because of you, more children will have access to the world’s most innovative treatments, and the top medical minds will be able to bring their visionary ideas to life on our campus.”

Some of the most notable gifts included a $300,000 commitment from the Stober Foundation, $250,000 commitments from the Ilich Family, Nicola Family Foundation as well as an anonymous donor, and $100,000 commitments from the Johal Family, the Hudson Family, the Greczmiel Family, Lawrence and Sandi Thiessen, The Wesik Family and the O'Sullivan Family.“

This year’s Crystal Ball was made possible by the visionary leadership, hard work and dedication of the 2023 Crystal Ball committee, led by co-chairs Helen Rivero and Timothy Cuffe,” said Berry. “More than 350 guests at this year’s Crystal Ball enjoyed a series of passive and interactive art installations. Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s event such a success.”
