The Stober Foundation is a private foundation based in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. After achieving success in the development and construction sectors in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley, Albert and Sandra Stober established the foundation in order to support local, national and international charitable efforts that strive to improve the lives of those in need.
In recent years, our foundation has evolved dramatically and now supports charitable initiatives from around the world while staying true to the community that has helped it thrive. As such, it actively engages and supports charities with creative, innovative, and most importantly, sustainable approaches to issues within the communities they serve.
Our family is passionate about partnering with charities that share our values, are forward-thinking, creative, and impactful when developing initiatives that aim to make our world a better place.
After nearly 30 years of driving our foundation forward, our family’s matriarch, the lovely Sandra Stober, has stepped down and nominated her son, Ken, to oversee the foundation as President. This change marks a new generation of family philanthropy. The foundation now is positioned to not only build upon the incredible work done by Sandra, but also drive philanthropy forward; all while stewarding the grace bestowed upon us.
With family and a high end executive leadership team at his side, Ken plans to pursue philanthropy like he has pursued his own charitable initiatives and business ventures; with a bold approach, open heart, and a focus on optimization and sustainability.
The Stober Foundation is pleased to accept project specific funding requests from charities 365 days a year through our online application portal. As a board we meet twice a year to extensively review and adjudicate all applications, providing they meet our funding criteria and guidelines.
We consider both single term and multi-year commitments based on the strength of the application, its target population, mandates, the values of the charity, and providing it meets one (or more) of our Core Areas of Interest.
So, if you’re a charity with a project/initiative that is making a big difference in our world, we’d love to hear from you.
