Our Story
The Stober Foundation is a collective of progressive philanthropists who are based in Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada. After achieving success in the construction and commercial development sectors in British Columbia's Okanagan Valley, Albert and Sandra Stober established The Stober Foundation in 1991 to support local, national, and international charitable efforts that strive to improve the lives of those in need, at home and around the world.
In recent years our foundation has evolved and now supports charitable initiatives from around the world while remaining extremely committed to our local communities which have helped us grow and prosper. We are dedicated to partnering with local, national, and international charitable initiatives that are progressive and sustainable in nature. Specifically, our foundation tends to focus primarily on creating solutions and opportunities in community development, education, food scarcity, humanitarianism, medicine, mental health, and technology - amongst others.
We are passionate about giving back to a community that has given so much to us, and remain focused on the work that has guided us from the beginning: community, entrepreneurship, faith, humanitarianism and innovation.
The Next Generation of Family Philanthropy
The Stober Foundation is proud to announce a new chapter in our family's philanthropic journey. Our beloved matriarch, Sandra Stober, has stepped down after nearly 30 years of driving our foundation forward. Sandra has nominated her son, Ken, to take the helm as President and oversee the foundation's operations moving forward.
This change marks a new generation of family philanthropy, and we are excited to see where Ken's leadership will take us. With the support of his family and a skilled executive leadership team, Ken plans to approach philanthropy with the same boldness, open heart, and focus on optimization and sustainability that he has brought to his own charitable initiatives and business ventures.
We are committed to upholding the values that have guided us since the beginning - community, entrepreneurship, faith, humanitarianism and innovation - while also looking forward to new opportunities to make a positive impact in the world. Together, we will continue to steward the grace bestowed upon us and drive our philanthropy forward with purpose and passion.
