District 7: 2023

Our District 7 initiative was started in 2021 then our Foundation's Board of Directors announced that they would empower employees from our family company to get involved in philanthropy. At a holiday party to remember, we came up with an epic challenge and opportunity.

We randomly divided our staff into unique teams, each with the responsibility of donating $5,000 to a charity of their choice. The opportunity was very exciting, but the challenge (and responsibility) was very real.

What started out as brainstorm idea has evolved into one of our most exciting accomplishments as a foundation and we are so proud of you all for participating, leaning into hard conversations, and investing (time, money, energy, and passion) into the community that we are all so blessed to call home.

Rules of Engagement:

• Employees listened to charity pitches and  signed up to volunteer for a day with a charity that peaked their interest!
• Each team had to come up with a super cool team name
• Each team had show up and hand-deliver the cheque to the charity
• Each team had to volunteer a total of at least 25 hours (combined) to their selected charity
• Each team had to collect media (pictures, videos, vlogs) and create/narrate a short video that highlights their journey and the vital work their charity does
• Each team had to use their respective platform to elevate their charity
