Making a Difference at Home and Around the World

Making a Difference at Home and Around the World

The Stober Scholars program was established in order to highlight and track the various cohorts of students who have been directly and indirectly supported by our educational philanthropy (scholarships, bursaries, funding, etc.) across multiple academic institutions.

We hope it serves as a platform to not only highlight the incredibly hard working students and programs we support, but also as an opportunity for us to promote the work these scholars are doing and to document their transition through their respective academic programs, and ultimately their careers. What a blessing it is to work with such amazing humans.

The Stober Foundation works with various secondary and post secondary institutions in order to facilitate academic pursuits, continuing education, and world class research paradigms. In recent years we have partnered and significantly supported capital projects with:

> The University of British Columbia (UBC)
Okanagan College
Trinity Western University
> Laurentian University
> The University of California (UCLA)

$1M gift from Stober Foundation to support UBCO students and public health

The donation will create needs-based and merit-based scholarships and will immediately provide critical funding for student support. In addition, a $500,000 Stober Fellows Program will be formed within the School of Health and Exercise Sciences to help recruit the next generation of health scientists. The fellowships will support an unprecedented number of students at the undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate levels.

Stober family donates $500,000 to Okanagan College’s new Health Sciences Centre

“Now more than ever, we recognize the critical role of front-line health care professionals,” said Keith Brewster, Stober Foundation’s executive director.

The college says the donation will specifically support the completion of the centre’s Health Lab, where nurses and health-care assistants will be trained. It will also establish scholarships and bursaries, enabling students to complete their studies at a time when many are facing even greater financial uncertainty.

UBC Stober Foundation Undergraduate Research Fellowships (SURFs)

SURFs have been established as a catalyst for excellence in health-related research and undergraduate student training within the School of Health and Exercise Sciences. The novel program provides undergraduate students the opportunity to pursue unique research opportunities within the School of Health and Exercise Sciences.

The Next Generation of Family Philanthropy

Our family foundation was created to help those in need. We have been tremendously blessed to be in  the graceful position to help others. As a family, we need to come together and adapt in order to provide support and opportunities for change.  In doing so, we can help others become whole, better their circumstances, their lives, and ultimately the lives of so many others through their success. Let us steward with grace, effectively and with great impact.
